A Lifetime of Music, More Than 35 Years of Teaching
Hi, I’m Adrienne — an experienced, welcoming piano teacher who has loved making music since I first sat down at a piano at age 7. From those early lessons to decades of teaching, I’ve always believed that music should feel personal, joyful, and accessible, and I bring that same patient, encouraging approach to every lesson I teach, helping students of all ages grow in skill and confidence.
My relationship with music began at age seven, when I first sat down at the piano and felt something click. That spark never left. Through high school I immersed myself in every musical corner I could find — playing clarinet in concert band and marching band, and bringing that same energy to the pit band, swing band, and jazz band as a keyboard player. And then, I eventually stepped onto the field with the University of Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band. Music wasn’t just an activity; it was the language I kept returning to.
I began teaching piano while still in high school, and I never stopped. I taught throughout college, then continued from my home studio for more than 35 years — guiding children, teenagers, adults, through everything from their very first scale to polished recital pieces. Every student is different, and I’ve spent decades learning how to meet each one exactly where they are.
When the world shifted during COVID, I took my studio online — and discovered something wonderful: online lessons work beautifully. Students can learn from the comfort of their own home, on their own schedule, without the time and cost of commuting. Whether you’re in Colorado or across the globe, all you need is a keyboard or piano and a reliable internet connection. I now teach students around the world.

My approach is warm, patient, and genuinely personal. I believe that learning piano should feel joyful — not intimidating. Whether you’re picking up the keys for the first time or returning after years away, I’ll help you build real skills, real confidence, and a real love of music. There’s no perfect age to start, and there’s no rush once you do.
When you learn with me, you’re learning with someone who has lived music from the inside out and knows how to guide you, step by step, toward your own musical goals.
